Dolma Aunty momos- yay or nay?

A small outlet near bustling streets of lajpat nagar, Dolma aunty momos are one of the busiest outlets in the area. It’s believed that she was the first person to introduce momos in the city  back in 1994 which has now become the very soul of every delhite.

With momo stalls now available in every corner of delhi, that too various kinds from steamed to kurkure to gravy, what makes people come back to this particular place? Let’s find out!

Dolma aunty started her business with steamed momos which flourished beautifully further expanding her menu which now includes different types of momos. In fact, now you can also get desi Chinese items but what makes this stall crowded till today is their evergreen momos

Half plate Chicken momos

We ordered a half plate of chicken momo which had four pieces with their signature red chutney. It was for 30/40 bucks. They were the most tender and softest ever tried which is what makes them so different. The filling was generous, however it wasn’t that flavourful. The skin was super thin and juicy and that red chutney compliments it so well. It has loads of garlic and chillis in it making it flavourful With a good kick. With the growing competition and momos being accessible so easily, you can definitely get them better in other places. Having said that, the momos do have a charm of it’s own, they’re yummy, juicy and tasty and maybe this is the reason people keep coming back for more!

It is located near the metro station, amidst the busy streets of Lajpat, a tiny stall which can be identified from metres away due to crowd all around it. A little hassle due to no seating arrangement, but for a cheap, delicious, getaway, even the noisy surroundings feels like home.
Give this place a chance if you are a delhite and you still haven’t yet!

Also much love to Dolma aunty for making momos a huge part of Delhi street food and honestly we can’t even imagine street food without momo stalls!
